Major Consultancy Group recruiting for the Al Waab City project in Qatar requires a Senior Electrical Engineer.
The project is a $2 billion mix use project, residential & commercial.
Candidates should have build experience. The contract is for a 3 year duration.
The primary functions of this role are:
Co ordinate with and support the various Project Managers
Review and direct the design team with regards to electrical design and distribution (design overview)
Site wide power distribution overview
Building Management System (BMS) work with and lead team and client to define the requirements and effectively implement
Not a pre requisite however if this person has strong leadership skills the role can be a dual focus of Senior Electrical Engineer/Internal Design Review Team Leader.
The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the Senior Project Manager and is responsible for monitoring all electrical activities with regards to the project. He represents the Senior Project Manager in all discussions regarding electrical issues with the engineer for the project, and in design and progress meetings throughout the duration of the project.
The Senior Electrical Engineer represents the Senior Project Manager in communications regarding all electrical matters with the Contractors.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Co-ordination and liaison with other discipline members of the Project Management Team throughout the duration of the project.
• Ensuring that the requirements of and/ or instructions given by the Client o all electrical issues are incorporated in the project documents i.e. drawings or specifications etc; during the various stages of the project, from design development through to documents issued for Construction.
• Monitoring the review of all electrical documents issued during the various design stages; documents issued "For Tender" and documents issued "For Construction" to ensure that all comments have been incorporated into these documents before the next step of the project takes place.
• Participating in construction and progress review meetings with Contractors.
• Assisting with the Coordination of the master schedule implementation and Sub- contract interfaces.
• Assisting with the preparation of Monthly Progress Report and other reports as required.
• Ensuring that the necessary engineering and design clarifications of the Contract Drawings and Specifications for the electrical works are provided by the appropriate parties.
• Ensuring that the necessary timely engineering decisions in keeping with the intent of the Contract necessary to overcome obstacles and field problems are provided by the appropriate parties.
• Assisting with the assessment of the Value Engineering proposals from Contractors with a view to making cost and time savings.
• Ensuring that the Contractor's shop and working drawings are promptly submitted, reviewed and returned to the Contractor by the Engineer in a timely manner.
• Directing and managing other electrical discipline team personnel with regards to the architectural works.
